Robinson Simbolon

Graduated from Faculty of Law, Universitas Jayabaya (1982) and Legislative Expert, Universitas Indonesia (1988). In addition, he also completed his Structural Training Course for Echelon II Candidates (Staf dan Pimpinan Administrasi Tingkat Menengah/SPAMEN) Batch VI in Bandung (2000).

He first served as an Independent Commissioner of the Company in 2014, based on Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders Resolutions dated 13 June 2014. He served as an Independent Commissioner for multiple terms and reappointed in 2024 for a term of office until 2027, based on Deed of PT Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk Meeting Resolutions No. 20 dated 16 May 2024. Prior to this position, he served as the Chairman of Audit Committee (2014–2021). Currently, he also serves as the Chairman of Nomination and Remuneration Committee (since 2020) and Chairman of Audit Committee (since 2022).

He started his career at the Ministry of Finance as Head of Legal, Financial Institution Companies, and Legal Bureau (1995–1998). He served as Head of Audit and Investigation Bureau (1998–1999) and Head of Legal and Regulatory Bureau (1999–2002) at Capital Market Supervisory Agency (Bapepam).

He also served as a member of the Central Labor Dispute Settlement Committee (P4P) (1998–2001), Chairman of the Industrial Relations Court (1999–2009), and member of Board of Commissioners of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (2010–2013).

He also served as Head of Legal and Regulation Bureau at Financial Services Authority (2012–2013) and Head of Payment System Policy Department at Bank Indonesia (2014–2017).
